When the website is accessed, technically necessary connection data such as IP address, time, browser data and requested files may be processed by the hosting provider so the site can be delivered and protected.

Local scanning and generation

QR codes, barcodes and uploaded images are processed locally in your browser in the MVP. SafeCodeScan does not automatically transmit decoded QR code contents to a server.

The camera is started only after a user action. Image uploads are read locally in the browser and are not uploaded by SafeCodeScan.

Accounts, database and analytics

The MVP does not use user accounts, a backend database, external analytics scripts or advertising scripts.

Settings such as theme, language, the last generator type and design presets may be stored in local browser storage on this device.

Optional scan history

Scan history is off by default. If enabled, it is stored only in local browser storage on this device.

You can delete the local scan history in the app. Clearing browser data may also remove it.

Affiliate links and advertising links

This website may include clearly labelled affiliate links or advertising links. If users click such a link and then buy something or sign up with the respective provider, the operator of this website may receive a commission.

When you merely visit SafeCodeScan, simple affiliate text links do not set affiliate cookies, affiliate pixels or affiliate scripts on this website. Only when you click an external link are you forwarded to the website of the respective provider.

On the provider website, personal data such as IP address, browser data, referrer or target page may be processed by that provider. The privacy policy of the respective provider applies.

QR contents, scan results, risk levels, camera frames, uploads and generated codes are not transmitted to affiliate partners.

Future optional services

External product databases or security APIs may be added later only as optional features and only after active user consent.

Until such a feature is explicitly enabled by the user, SafeCodeScan should not send scanned contents to external lookup services.
